The Beatles’ children may form band together. Article by Dan Hyman

Over 50 years after they emerged out of Liverpool, the Beatles music remains some of the most popular in the world. Which may be one reason why the group members’ children are now considering joining forces. Or so says the son of Paul McCartney, James (pictured above). In an interview with BBC, the younger McCartney said he is interested in teaming up with the sons of John, George and Ringo to form The Beatles: The Next Generation.” “I don’t think it’s something that Zak [Starkey] wants to do,” McCartney says of one of Ringo Starr’s sons. “Maybe Jason [Starkey] would want to do it. I’d be up for it. Sean [Lennon] seemed to be into it, Dhani [Harrison] seemed to be into it. I’d be happy to do it.”
.

As to whether this collaboration is a real possibility, McCartney isn’t sure. “I don’t know, you’d have to wait and see,” he said. And what will it take to make it a reality? “The will of God, nature’s support, I guess.”
.
Each of the Beatles’ children have been involved in music in some form or another. James McCartney has released two EPs, and played guitar on his father’s albums Flaming Pie and Driving Rain. Sean Lennon has done a variety of musical projects, from three solo albums and work with his mother, Yoko Ono, in her Plastic Ono Band, to collaborations with Albert Hammond Jr. of the Strokes and a duo with girlfriend Charlotte Kemp Muhl, Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger. Dhani Harrison fronts his own group, thenewno2, and is also well a member of acoustic trio Fistful of Mercy with Ben Harper and Joseph Arthur. Ringo’s sons, Zak and Jason Starkey, have followed in their dad’s footsteps as reputable session drummers.
